01 / DIGITAL CARGO DISTRIBUTION
Octoloop.
A shared channel for
digital booking.
Product conception and launch through leadership roles at Cargo Flash and as CEO of Octoloop.
The business challenge
Non-stock-holding customers had limited direct access to airline cargo booking. Reservations often depended on phone calls, emails and intermediated processes, making routine bookings slower and harder to scale.
The digital repository model
I helped introduce a digital repository model through which airlines could connect directly with non-stock-holding customers. Octoloop brought airline offers and digital booking into a shared channel, supported by API connectivity, payments and customer onboarding.
A simplified illustration of the model described in the portfolio.
My contribution
I led the product vision, business model and route to market; worked across product delivery, airline acquisition and customer onboarding; and led the marketplace as CEO. I personally acquired and onboarded Qatar Airways across 13 stations in India.
Adoption in everyday work
Introducing a portal is one part of the change. My work across digital booking programmes has included training forwarders and supporting their move to self-service, reducing reliance on manual booking.
